benefits of thousands of families
across Florida by actively opposing
and speaking out against Amendment
2.
Fought for the rights of service
employees to organize a union at Nova
Southeastern University.
Working to monitor the growth of
the Fort Lauderdale Executive
Airport to make sure its impact does
not alter the quality of life for those
living in the area.
Helped organize a unity rally that
drew hundreds of other activists,
government officials, and religious
leaders to protest and control the
damage done by Mayor Jim Naugle
of Fort Lauderdale's offensive
comments towards many in our
community.
Pushed the Broward County
Commission to remove Naugle
from its Tourism Development
Council and help restore the
region's reputation as one
committed to diversity and
inclusiveness.
