Today is a day to reflect on how we can all make a difference and help our planet. Here in Oakland Park, and all over the country, we face serious environmental issues and concerns. Together we can make a difference in both our everyday lives and as a community.
We must all do what we can as individuals to preserve our precious water supply. That means obeying water restrictions, installing low-flow taps in our homes, and planting native greenery that doesn’t need extra watering in our yards. As a community, we must focus on smart, green development that doesn’t tax our resources. We have to preserve our open green spaces that provide much needed environmental renewal through water absorption and decreasing greenhouse gases. We can reduce our waste and carbon footprint through strong recycling programs and incentives.
Together we can all make a positive impact on our environment. Join me in fighting for our most precious resource- our planet. We must be good stewards of our earth and preserve it for our future generations.
